I'm an NCT-trained Birth Doula and Breastfeeding Counsellor based in Birmingham, West Midlands. I'm also a Perinatal Outreach Worker with a local charity, alongside running my own baby and toddler music and movement classes.
I had my baby in 2018 and decided to train as a peer supporter with the NCT. It is during this training that I became passionate about helping new families and decided to embark on the journey to become a Doula.
I enrolled at the University of Worcester that same year, and graduated as a certified Doula, Breastfeeding Counsellor and Baby Massage Practitioner in 2023. I also completed a BA (Hons) in Working with Children and Families in 2024.
Having had a complex, traumatic birth myself, I genuinely wish I had known more about Doulas and how one could have supported me. I am now driven by the desire to bridge the gap between birthing people and their wants and needs for labour and birth.
I take a holistic approach, providing physical, emotional and spiritual support to individuals and families, working with a birth partner if one is present. I have strong experience and knowledge in listening skills, breathing and relaxation techniques, and massage in order to support birthing people in a variety of ways to meet their needs.
I am also interested in aromatherapy and hypnobirthing, and always happy to work with my clients to come up with a birthing plan to encompass their wishes.
By working alongside midwives, I will act as an advocate and source of comfort to support a birth experience outlined by my client, wherever, and however, they decide to give birth.
